Here are 5 things you should do when this happens.

  1. Update your Facebook app
Before you do anything else, make sure you’re using the newest version of the Facebook mobile app. Using an older version of the Facebook app might cause issues. When it occurs, don’t worry. Simply update your Facebook app on the Google Play Store. Here are the steps.
  • Open the Play Store app.
  • To access the side menu, tap the 3-line button in the upper left.
  • To check for updates, go to My apps & games.
  • Find Facebook and hit the Update button.
  • If you don’t see Facebook in the list, you’re current. See more ideas below.
  1. Exit all applications

Too many applications running in the background is a common cause of Facebook freezing on Android. You can run multiple programmes on your phone, however Facebook may crash due to little RAM. To repair it, just empty the Recent Programs window of any active apps.

  • Tap the square button on the menu bar to access the Recent Apps window on Android.
  • Simply tap the close button to end all active applications.
  • Then relaunch Facebook to check whether the notice disappears.
  1. Restart your phone

If closing all running applications didn’t work, we propose rebooting your phone to repair the Facebook app. Did you read it? Rebooting your phone may cure many issues quickly. Try rebooting your phone if you haven’t lately; it usually works.

To restart your phone, long-press the power button and choose Restart. If your phone freezes and you can’t enter the power menu, you may forcibly restart it by long-pressing the Power button for around 10 seconds.

  1. Delete Facebook app cache and data

Clearing Facebook’s cache and data is another option when the programme continues crashing on Android. Android applications may temporarily cache data to save space and minimise resource use, however the cache data might cause the Facebook app to crash.

Clearing the Facebook app’s cache and data should help. If you do this, you will lose your Facebook app. To continue using Facebook, just re-login after the procedure.

To remove Facebook cache and data on Android, follow these steps:

  • Go to Apps in Settings.
  • Depending on your Android phone’s manufacturer, you may need to hit Manage applications first.
  • Locate and pick Facebook, then click Storage & Cache.
  • To finish, press the Clear cache and Clear data buttons.
  • If the problem persists, restart Facebook.

5) Examine your phone’s

In certain cases, the Facebook app crashes on Android. This option restricts battery use, app permissions, and data usage.

Battery Saver might be so aggressive that it closes the Facebook app. If it occurs regularly, disable Battery Saver or whitelist Facebook.

How to whitelist Facebook?

  • Settings > Apps & Notifications > Battery Optimization
  • Tap the “Not optimised” drop-down option, then choose all applications.
  • Finally, mark Facebook as ‘Not optimised’.
